2.0 movie review:

2.0 movie review:

There might have been a great lot of talks of excellent visuals and animations, but that is the only thing for 2.0. The rest of the movie doesn’t make much sense. Without a plot and a proper storyline, the story suffers a natural death. Dr. Vaseegaran and his assistant Nila, the android are called in right after everyone’s mobiles are seen to fly out. Funnily, the electronic disturbance is unknown, and we do not get to see the villain until second half. Vaseegaran calls his trusted robot Chitti to chase off the bird robot slash unknown bird man Pakshiranjan (Akshay Kumar).

The plot is under driven:

The South Indian movies always have an over the top creative idea behind the story, but this story is definitely underplayed. An absolute boredom treatment, the movie doesn’t have a strong base other than the fact that all birds have died because of technology boom and a bird love gets angry and comes back to take revenge. The thick visuals have saved the movie from drowning, else this would be nowhere close to watching. The twists follow the pattern of the first film, and we know what follows what. Akshay Kumar’s shape shifting Pakshi is a treat to watch, with different forms, and this was new.

Rajnikanth’s performance and presence dominates everything else, of course! Akshay also has given a solid performance, and these are the two reasons why one would watch 2.0. of course AR Rahman does to the music what magic couldn’t be created in the film. Overall, the movie is a visual treat but a mental bore. You may watch the movie expecting a boring storyline, and enjoy the VFX only.
