Double treat on this Independence Day
On this Independence Day audience will have double treat as “Satyameva Jayate” and “Gold” both patriotic will be released on 15th August 2018.
Bollywood is gearing up for a massive collision at the box office next week. Two big-ticket releases, Akshay Kumar‘s Gold and John Abraham‘s Satyameva Jayate, will lock horns on Independence Day.
Ever since Baby hit the screens on Republic Day 2015, Akshay Kumar has become the poster-boy of patriotism in Bollywood. It is widely known that Republic Day and Independence Day are earmarked for his films, which revolve around the nation and are sprinkled with generous doses of patriotism.
Gold, which tells the story of independent India’s first Olympic gold win, is high on patriotic pride, and therefore, a perfect Independence Day release.

Another delicious treat of John Abraham’s “Satyameva Jayate” the story revolves around John Abraham’s character hunting criminals and exterminating the corrupt officials responsible for communal disharmony in the society. On the other hand Manoj Bajpayee is a police officer who is on the lookout of a person who is on killing spree.
Satyameva Jayate has the actor playing a vigilante who fights against corruption and social injustice. “Beimaan Pitega, Corruption Mitega,” is the tagline of the film.
Both the Independence Day releases are equally steeped in patriotism. But in terms of star power, Akshay is a bigger box office draw than John.
Now it’s up to the audiences to whom they will give better chance, as far as the previous box office movies collections of both the actors are checked, despite revolving around the ‘taboo’ subject of menstruation, Akshay’s last release Pad Man earned Rs 40.05 crore in its opening weekend. Meanwhile, John’s previous Bollywood outing Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran raked in Rs 20.78 crore in the first three days.
Both movies based on patriotism now audiences will decide their choice.
