Karan Johar on nepotism:

So many actors have spoken up about nepotism being existent in the Bollywood film industry. We have seen terrible actors getting into Bollywood only because their parents have also been a part of the industry. And they get sold into good roles because the director knows that the children of the stars are already famous, and they won’t need to spend extra money on marketing them. This won’t be the same with self made actors like Raj Kummar Rao, and Radhika Apte, which is also true for the case of Ranveer Singh.

Karan Johar has recently announced Student of the Year2, which will star Chunkey Pandey’s daughter, and Tara Sutaria. A lot of twitter handlers again slammed Karan Johar for promoting nepotism. Kangana had already slammed the director for being the flag bearer of nepotism, and it seems that he is continuing with his biasness. Other movies are already in line, and all of them include nepotism decisions. Janhvi Kapoor, Sri Devi’s daughter will star in Dhadak, Simmbaa will star Amrita Arora’s daughter and Saif Ali Khan, which is a long list in favour of nepotism.

Student of the year 2 is currently being shot at Rishikesh and Musoorie, and will be the love triangle between Tiger Shroff, ( another case of Nepotism), Tara Sutaria and Chunkey Pandey’s daughter, Ananya Pandey. The movie will soon hit the theatres by 23rd of November.

Nepotism is the ugly truth of Bollywood. Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, all came to the industry without any contacts or familial influences. Shah Rukh Khan too came to the industry with nothing but his acting skills. There have been so many stars who have done well without nepotism. It is high time that Bollywood includes other people into the industry without familial bias. What if there’s more talent outside the realm of Bollywood? Its time Bollywood opened doors.
