Lupt Movie review:

Lupt Movie review:

Horror movies hardly make a mark in Bollywood, and every year there will at least be some in this genre. The story of this movie stands that a spooky nightmarish road trip becomes haunted as soon as they travel by a lonely road, and the family of four is attacked. Javed Jaffrey is the lead actor here, an ambitious businessman, suffering from insomnia. He is the first one to have hallucinations and he is advised by his psychiatrist to be at rest. That is when Javed Jaffrey takes on a road trip to Nainital, and the story unfolds.

Horror movies and the setup:

The entire setup of the movie is quite good, with no sudden abrupt change of script. The family gets prepared for their sunny trip and they are almost convinced that this will be an amazing trip. And that is when tragedy strikes. The main error with the direction is in the part where the movie shifts from a sunny vacation to a sudden horror fest. The movie depicts him as a patriarch, and one would be wary of his presence. Most ironically, only his presence and the ghosts in the movie fare well in the acting scenes. Also, commendable mention goes to Vijay Raaz – it was his house that the entire story takes place.

For a horror tale, the scare is weak. The spirits are running in at any odd time, making it rather weak a tale. The suspense even doesn’t hold up for a very long time unfortunately. The movie can successfully scare you only if you are afraid of the dark, or if you aren’t in the habitual mode to see ghost genre. Overall, only two stars can be given to the movie.
