Neha Dhupia supports Rani Mukherjee’s #meToo statements:
The movement of #meToo was originally born in USA and then it travelled down to the Bollywood with the influence of Tanushree Dutta. Tanushree has just returned back to the US again after her six month long stay in India. But the fire hasn’t quite died down, it seems that the upheaval of the #meToo movement is here to stay, and different actors and actresses discuss it during different times of the year.
#meToo by Rani Mukherjee:
It seems that Rani Mukherjee has quite a different outlook to #meToo. She says that women should be compulsorily taught some form of self-defense, because men will be men or will change, we aren’t sure about it. While the statement seems to be appropriate to some, the netizens haven’t taken it down quite well. According to Rani also, the woman should have the courage to tell the man to back off if she is in such a state.
The actress got trolled for her views and now everyone is interviewing other actresses asking them if they agree to what Rani has said. Neha Dhupia was asked about the same, and she supported Rani Mukherjee. Neha feels that every woman should have the power to say back off!
While the debate can keep rumbling, we still don’t know whose side to be on. While some statements are politically correct, some aren’t.
