Rekha to Rap, Sonakshi to Sing
The third sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana is all set to hit the theaters on May 12 this year and this time, there’s more to this comedy-drama. Titled as Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, this movie starring Dharmendra with his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, has a pleasant surprise in store, part of which we are going to reveal here.
We have seen her act, dance, and even sing in some talent shows, but this time, the ever-so-gorgeous Rekha will be turning a rapper for a song in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se. It was earlier reported that the movie would see special appearances of stars like Salman Khan, Rekha, Shatrughan Sinha with daughter Sonakshi, but the fact that these stars will showcase their other talents too was a clandestine affair.
While Rekha turned a rapper, Sonakshi crooned a few verses of the song. In addition, Salman and Shatrughan Sinha, along with Dharmendra, will recreate a few superhit dialogues of some of the most iconic movies from the past.
If that hasn’t elated you enough, wait till you see the Sinha father-daughter duo shake a leg together in this very song that has us beaming with joy even before its promos.
Composed by Vishal Mehra, this song in question is a medley that will feature the movie’s title track besides some evergreen yesteryear hits including O Mere Sona Re from the movie Teesri Manzil and Rafta Rafta from Kahani Kismat Ki.
“This track was made in 24 hours but has turned out great,” said Mishra. “I had the pleasure of recording and dubbing these stars and it’s going to be a big surprise for the audience.”
Besides lending her voice in the form of rap to the song, Rekha has also devoted long hours rehearsing with the ace choreographer Remo D’souza.
We can’t wait to see this side of our favourite stars, can you?
