This is a story of a couple Mauji and Mamata.  Mauji (Varun Dhawan) is a simple guy who earns money by doing some random stupid things. However, he is an honest man who also works part-time acting as dog, bear and other animals at lavish parties. One day his wife Mamta (Anushka) gets to know about his profession and asks him to start doing something sensible. She suggests him to live a life of respect through self-employment by using his tailoring skills. The couple together sets out on a mission to establish an embroidery business.  The crux of the movie lies in Mauji’s hard work, his entrepreneurship and the support which exists between the couple.

Sui Dhaaga is  Katariya’s third film which is really a great work. He has perfectly depicted a journey of a common hardworker man, who lives his life in happy mode. Mauji is an honest worker, talented , and  artist.  Portrayal of Mauji and Mamata is a very natural. Mamata became inspiration for many women, who aspire to be something. Anushka has won the character as being portrayed of a very common obidient wife, who believes in doing in all wifely things for her husband. Varun Dhawan did very well done job, audience can easily get his ease with the role, he excelled in this character. Mauji and Mamata made a mark on the heart of audiences with their struggleful journey.
