Hindi medium Sequel

There was a lot of excitement around, after Hindi Medium was released, chiefly because it showed the backdrop of Indian education, and Irfan Khan even went ahead to bag a Filmfare Award in best Actor category. Khan selects his movies carefully, unlike the other Khans, and he is widely known for his dramatic roles in Piku, the ever irritated driver who calms down when he meets Piku’s constipated father, the role of a Shayar in Saat Khoon Maaf, where he is the abusive husband who believes in BDSM without consent. Whatever role Irfan plays, he makes it his own, and he has mastered the art of acting so well, that his roles become him, and intermingle somewhere in between.

After Hindi Medium being a grand success, Irfan’s next project will be Hindi Medium’s sequel, where he plays the role of Raj Batra again, and this time a little older. Pia of course will be older too, and as per guesses go, this one will be on Teenage tantrums and schools.

The sequel will of course be directed by Homi Adajania, and will be produced by Dinesh Vijan, who will come together after a really long break. This combination was last spotted in “Cyrus”, which is a psychotic thriller by Saif Ali Khan, one of his best movies perhaps, and “Cocktail”, the popular Bollywood style love triangle, where the guy falls for the good girl ( Sanskari ladki) and ignores the one who is into drinks and smoking.

Rumours are rife that Sara Ali Khan will be the adolescent Pia, who will struggle through middle and high school, and we can expect a bunch of faults in the education system to be exposed again. This, of course, is necessary, so that our future generations understand the concept of education, and not blindly fall into the rat trap. A movie to watch, one can definitely keep their eyes open for this one!
